SMARTconverter LIGHT for modernizations

The SMARTconverter LIGHT is a lightweight, energy-efficient, quiet and practically maintenance-free auxiliary power converter for trams and light rail vehicles. It was developed with a focus on the modernization of rail vehicles and can be used as a standard device without any modifications to the vehicle.

Magdeburger Verkehrsbetriebe (MVB) has therefore decided to use the SMARTconverter LIGHT on the NGT8D trams. The first SMARTconverter LIGHT has been undergoing testing since October and the first series devices will be delivered to Magdeburg in 2023.
